FOCCHI GROUP and STANTONWILLIAMS at FUORISALONE - Milano Design Week 2018

Stanton Williams’ pavilion interprets the Interni exhibition theme House in Motion by giving physical form to the idea of movement through space.

Space and movement combine to form a work of choreographic architecture.

A spiral pathway is spatially compressed and released as it winds into the centre of the pavilion. Here, at the focal point, the ‘baldacchino’ – a canopy of light – hovers over a horizontal plane that suggests rest and contemplation. The pavilion floats above the ground surface to reinforce its abstract and poetic nature. Interlocking forms define the captured spaces. Blackened steel is used throughout to reinforce the pavilion’s sculptural qualities.

The engineering, manufacturing and installation of the pavilion is by Focchi Group with lighting provided by iGuzzini.
