PAU Studio's Ruchika Modi reveals what it took for a 150-year-old landmark to become a modern office space

Ruchika Modi gave an interesting and comprehensive interview to Commercial Property Executive about the story behind Brooklyn’s Domino Sugar Factory makeover.

The 1880s historic industrial building has returned to life as a modern office space. Designed by PAU, the barrel-vaulted glass structure integrates history, innovative engineering, and sustainability in a forward-thinking adaptive reuse project. In a unique approach to refurbishment, the architects nest a brand-new building within the existing envelope, with a 12-to-15-foot gap between the new and the old.
