Practice founded in 1995. Among the most important projects are the interiors of some classrooms at Bocconi University, shopping centers and an urban park. Currently the practice is engaged in the final design of a multifunctional complex in the former station of Porta Vittoria in Milan, next to the future European Library, and in the masterplan for the redevelopment of the former FIAT Grandi Motori in Turin. It has participated in international design competitions winning prizes and awards. It also acts as design practice, integrated with the company "UCP4 Ltd." developing jointly the architectural, structural, engineering and related construction supervision.

Live Project

The redevelopment of Porta Vittoria scheme starts from an integrated architectural concept that combines aesthetics and functionality focused on the topic of living and working comfort, as well as safety. The project includes different volumes in which commercial areas, public facilities such as bars and restaurants alternate with conference rooms, fitness rooms and a hotel. The latter, of about 300 rooms, is built in an asymmetrical bridge with a span of over 60 m which crosses the railway line, whose exit is covered by a large cantilevered structure.
Safety, protection from noise and vibrations and thermal insulation are the guidelines along which the entire project was developed. In each phase, the construction site has highlighted technical precautions to cancel the perception of the vibrations of the trains and the noise that the functions present. For the hotel with a bridge structure overlying the Railways which has steel structures that lay 15 m underground, have been provided special acoustic dampers. At the same time, the surfaces of the ventilated façade and all the internal partitions ensure high performance both in terms of energy savings and in terms of acoustic and thermal insulation. With regard to thermal-acoustic insulation and fire protection of the external vertical curtain walls of the ventilated facade, the design includes bespoke panels with a denser surface layer aimed at guaranteeing more effective resistance to severe weather conditions and possible defibration phenomena.
