IRIS

A Digital Twin for an efficient and safety warehouse

Project Specs

The IRIS project aims to design, develop, and test a Digital Twin for the warehouse of Focchi HQ. The IRIS Digital Twin is grounded on advanced IoT technologies and BIM standards. The core of the IRIS Digital Twin revolves around a scalable cloud platform BIM-based connected to local web servers, aggregating data from diverse on-site IoT devices for warehouse optimization and safety issue. Specifically, on the one hand, the IRIS Digital Twin will allow to track materials within the warehouse; on the other hand, real time alerts will drastically improve worker safety. The project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program within the framework of the Change2Twin (C2T) project (grant agreement No 951956).

Technology

IRIS

The project prioritizes interoperability through common standards like HTTP, MQTT, LoRa, and API REST. These standards facilitate harmonized development and deployment across the project. Several protocols and data formats are selected, validated, and refined during prototype testing to ensure their effectiveness and compatibility with the IRIS Digital Twin. The purpose is to improve future promises with an agile, efficient, and secure technology that empowers stakeholders to make informed decisions, streamline operations, and ensure the utmost safety for personnel and materials.
