Four Pancras Square

The natural patination of the steel absorbs light in contrast to the glazed surface of the ceramic that reflects light. The glazing façades feature high performance double glazed sealed units with solar coating.

As with all the other office buildings at King’s Cross, the very latest technology will reduce running costs and minimize environmental impact. This project has achieved an ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM rating.

Live Project

4 Pancras Square is located at the heart of the new public realm of King’s Cross Central in London.

10 floors of office space, a ground floor which includes retail units and a shared office reception and café / bar opening to the Square.

Featuring an innovative structural weathering steel exoskeleton against a backdrop of aluminium and ceramic cladding, the new build draws on the industrial heritage of the area but seeks to set a lasting visual and architectural reference for London. The materials of the façade are weathering steel and white glazed ceramic for the horizontal brise-soleil shading. The expressed steel as a structure recalls the heroic engineering of the industrial revolution and the railways that enabled the expansion of London. The glazed ceramic was the material that in the 19C and early modernism architecture was used in response to the dirtier environment of the European cities of these times.
